With the HP PD0800 80GB Pocket Media Drive you can store loads of your photos, home videos, TV shows, and music on one handy, compact, portable external drive. This versatile drive can either be used alone connected via USB cable with any PC, or slide it into the chassis slot of select HP PC products to get it off your desk and out of the way. And with its high-speed USB 2.0 transfer rate and integrated software, it makes backing up your system a breeze.

HP's PD0800 media drive lets you share and manage your files among multiple desktop and notebook PCs, access home videos and recorded TV shows without searching among stacks for the right DVD, and keep tabs on your storage with the power and drive activity LED indicator. And while this Pocket Drive's compact size makes it easily transportable when used as an external drive, it fits in the front of HP Media Center m1000 series Photosmart PCs and select Compaq PCs, where it provides plug-and-play additional storage that is off your desktop and out of the way. This 80 GB Pocket Media Drive even makes backing up your files automatic with its included Sonic Backup My PC Special Edition software. This drive requires no separate external power supply, comes in a sleek, wallet-sized case, and within its roomy 80 GigaBytes of space lets you store up to 36,000 photos, 18,000 songs, or 52 hours of video (total capacity depends on the encoding formats used).

The HP PD0800 utilizes USB 2.0 for power-supply and high-speed data transfers, with backwards compatibility to USB 1.1, and requires Windows XP (Home and Pro), or Media Center Edition, 32 MB of RAM, and an available USB port. This unit is warm swappable (no need to power off your PC when plugging it in to your PC tower), and includes power and drive-activity LED indicators. HP's 80GB Pocket Media Drive measures 5.38 x 3.18 x 0.63 inches (WxDxH), is preformatted with the requisite installation software on its hard disk, and comes with a 20-inch USB 2.0 B-type to A-type power and data-sharing cable, quick setup poster, software CD, and a warranty and support guide.
